Schools are closed due to the Corona epidemic and lockdown. So students are being educated through online education. There was then a protest by parents that fees were now being charged by schools. So the government took the matter to the High Court. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel on Saturday issued a statement on the issue of school fees following a High Court directive. For the first time after the High Court verdict, Nitin Patel said that the Education Minister would take appropriate decision after discussing with the Board of Trustees and, if necessary, the Chief Minister. The decision will be made by consensus. If the decision is not made, the government will take appropriate action.

Demand for reduction and fee waiver of state guardians

Parents in the state have demanded fee waiver before the trust-run school. Parents are demanding a 50 percent fee waiver. In this case, the parents have also shown readiness to send an application form to the district education officer. This is because the High Court has asked the government to decide on the fee reduction case. That is when parents are now demanding a reduction in fees.

The Gujarat government had proposed a reduction in fees in the High Court due to the Koro period. Then on September 18 in the Gujarat High Court, the school administrators showed readiness to reduce the fees. School administrators showed readiness to reduce the fixed fees. However, it has not been decided yet how much the fee will be reduced. Meanwhile, the High Court had directed the government to reduce the fees. The government should decide how much the schools will reduce fees, the high court said. It is unfortunate that the government has to apply to the court for a reduction in fees.

Importantly, the state government had asked private school administrators for a 25 per cent fee reduction. The school administrators then rejected the proposal. Parents are accusing school administrators of being arbitrary.
